TARA ST. ELLEN STILP, aged 50 passed away unexpectedly at home February 8, 2021 Tara was born April 18, 1970 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of John Stilp and Barbara (Ratajczyk) Stilp. In her youth she lived and attended school in the communities of Midwood and Gerritsen Beach Brooklyn. Tara graduated from Edward R. Murrow High School, Class of 1988. Following graduation she entered Long Island University and SUNY Downstate Medical School earning a Bachelor of Science degree and proudly graduated in 1993 a Physician Assistant, RPA-C Tara married in 1997 and resided in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn where she raised her children Victoria and Antonio Cioffi. She and her family in 2006 then moved to her current home in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn. Tara for much of her life was very active and enjoyed many activities including biking, rollerblading, kayaking, exercise and most of all music. She adored and very much enjoyed the company of her 3 dogs, Sonny, Tabatha and Sunkist. She would bring them everywhere and were rarely without her. Tara very much loved to be at the beach and all of her family vacations were centered around it. She was a long time member of the Silver Gull Beach Club in Breezy Point, NY where every summer she would rent a cabana for the season. She was most at peace when there. Tara cherished being a Physician Assistant and she truly loved her career specializing in the field of OB/GYN. She began practicing medicine in Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn, NY and continued on to Mercy Medical Center, Rockville Centre, NY. She then served as Chief Physician Assistant at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY On June 22, 2019 Tara was recognized as a Professional of the Year for 2019, by Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide for her outstanding achievements and high level of success in the field of healthcare. During her distinguished career she delivered hundreds of babies and completed numerous surgeries providing excellent care and offering genuine compassion to her patients. During Hurricane Sandy, Tara assisted in setting up a clinic in Breezy Point, New York and worked alongside the Rockaway Point Fire Department, the National Guard and numerous first responders to aid in the care of that community. While helping an elderly man she was captured on ABC News and local newspapers. Tara was very humbled by the entire experience and considered it at the time the highlight of her medical career to date. She was devoted to the practice of medicine and helping others, her medical career as a P.A. spanned more than 25 years. Tara was predeceased by her father John Stilp. Surviving in addition to her Mother, Barbara Stilp, is her son, Antonio Cioffi and daughter, Vctoria Cioffi ; sister Michele Viola and niece Samantha Viola, cherished aunts, cousins and many friends. A memorial service for family and close friends will be held on Friday March 5, 2021 6pm-9pm at James P. Byrnes Funeral Home 2384 Gerritsen Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11229 A funeral mass will be held for all to attend on Saturday March 6, 2021 at 10:30am at Resurrection Church, 2331 Gerritsen Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11229
